Nightfall refers to photography taken between astronomical dawn and sunrise, or between sunset and astronomical dusk. Incorporates the period known as ‘Blue hour’, which occurs between late civil twilight and early nautical twilight. There are three recognised stages of twilight: these being Astronomical, Nautical and Civil Twilight.
